At last, I can finally tell you.  In December of 2009, Tahir Shah and Matt Garrett finished a new service they’d been working on.  On January 25th, I put it to the test.  The results have been nothing short of phenomenal!  If you are a downline builder, this is the tool for you.  As of today, February 15th, 2009 I have 1,622 target niche followers on Twitter.  In addition, in only 22 days, I’ve created a residual monthly recurring income as a Twittollower affiliate of $412.00.

If you intend to impact your personal income positively in 2010, follow these proven steps to ensure your success.

Make sure that you are with a company that you can remain passionate about for the long term.  A smart downline builder does not overlook the impact that retention can have on long term success.  Make sure you are offering products that people are willing to pay for consistently.  Hopefully, you have aligned yourself with a sponsor that has your best interest in mind.  Ongoing education is important.  Your upline sponsor should play a pivotal role in ensuring you are up to date at all times on the latest changes, suggestions and marketing techniques.

If you are looking to make an impact on your personal income this year, here are suggested proven steps for making it happen:

One:  Align yourself with a company that you can get excited about.  Do your research.  Find one that shares your values.  Make sure the products or services offered are something that people would be willing to pay for consistently on a month to month basis.

Two:  Align yourself with someone within the organization who has a proven track record.  If they have had success, you will learn so much more from them than from a local friend who is just starting out.  Make sure this person has your best interests in mind.  Conduct multiple conversations with this person and feel them out.  Make sure they will help you to get past the learning curve patiently and professionally.  Your success is their success, but a lot of mentors or sponsors take this for granted.

Three:  Once you have joined the company and have completed your company training, follow the lead of your sponsor.  They will suggest you begin by promoting your business to friends and family.  That is okay for an initial push, and over a sixty to ninety day period may help you to generate some momentum.

Four:  Within your first sixty days, implement an effective online marketing strategy.  This is where so many people drop the ball.  Regardless of the company that you have chosen, if your strategy is to only market to friends and family, you have a high percentage chance of failure.  An effective marketing strategy is crucial to your long term success.

Five:  Be proactive.  If you run out of local leads, you are dead in the water.  Get your marketing program up and running as a compliment to your primary business long before you have exhausted all of your local leads.

Find your “way to money”.  If you are just starting out online, begin with an effective strategy.  Your way to money starts by setting yourself up for success.  Do your research.  Do not go for the first business opportunity you see.  Find a company that shares your values.  Evaluate the products or services that the company offers and determine if they are a good fit for you.  A good rule of thumb is to ask yourself whether at least ten of your top 100 local contacts would actually want to buy the product on a consistent basis.  If not, this company is not your way to money.  Move on.

When you do find the right company, get online and find the right long term mentor.  Align yourself with a person who has shown true success.  Have several conversations with them until you are satisfied that they will work with you patiently and help you to get past the learning curve.  Proper training on the company, the products or services and the compensation plan is important.  You want to align yourself with someone who will make sure you have all of the answers, no matter how trivial.

Most people who join an MLM operation follow the instructions of their sponsor without fail.  From the outset, they are asked to put together a detailed list of all of their friends and family, former classmates, co-workers, etc.  Then they are instructed to learn the basics of the business, such as the product line, the company philosophy and the compensation plan.  Armed with this new found knowledge and the list of local leads, the average distributor is up and running within weeks, sometimes days.
